About Marilyn

I began seriously painting in watercolor when I took classes at the Morton Arboretum in 1992. With their Nature Artists’ Guild, I exhibited botanical/nature paintings there spring and fall over those 26 years. I also ventured out into other area exhibits: Bloomingdale Museum, Danada House Nature Show, Norris Cultural Center in St. Charles, and solo shows in Oak Park Conservatory, Theosophical Society, churches and libraries. My paintings have been juried into other exhibits across the country - - Orcas Island, WA, Prairie Du Sac, WI, Baraboo, WI, and Santa Fe, NM. The latter is more recent work done in oil and cold wax which the Encaustic Art Institute/Museum encompasses. I love nature and have a series of cranes as well as fungi. It is not silly to portray these natural elements because these subjects age and change. One’s paintings capture something that will never be seen again just like that! I have continued to get various training which can be seen on my website: http://www.pagesbyperetti.com
