Kristine Metoyer is a self-taught Chicago artist. She began her love for painting in the mid 1990’s, painting beautiful landscape and still life. Kristine took time away to raise her family, yet never lost her desire to paint as a way of expression.
Statement: Inspired by the beauty, brokenness, and uncertainty in the world, I use a style to express a passionate message behind the colorful stillness and passion for a moment in time. I have created to embrace the observer to focus on a personal interpretation of the subject matter and meaning. The passion in each piece of my artwork is meant to share beauty and color in the world. My work is a constant search to find the best way to interpret the idea I have about the world. I do not limit myself to one medium, style, or concept. Knowledge changes. Each piece I create is an extension from the past, and a preview of the future. If a viewer stops for just a moment to view and reflect on my piece I have created, then I have succeeded in my work.
Kristine Metoyer specializes in still life, nature, and abstract realism. She uses a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, ink and watercolor to express and create art.
