Heather has been expressing herself artistically ever since being a young child with a rare birth defect. Growing up in New York City felt busy and overwhelming. Making art became a means for Heather to find a safe, quiet space, and place of
expression. She attended art school at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in the late 1990s. She later developed an interest in holistic health and set art aside for a time. Five years ago she began painting again in earnest and has begun to exhibit her
work locally and fulfill local commissions.
Heather uses art as a form of prayer and meditation. I believe art can help connect us to our inner most self and to and the beauty of the Divine. In culture that is tumbling ever toward immediacy, Heather believes it is important to take time to intentionally
slow down and just be.
